Processor: Intel
Email Client: imap

Hi,

i've recently configured an IMAP account (not mobile me) in entourage 2008.
I've configured the accounts to download full bodies from all folders. However if i start entourage offline then i cannot see my IMAP folders and can only access my inbox messages.
when i'm online, everytime i start entourage all my imap folders are empty and i need to open each folder to get the messages downloaded.
i've tried to download the emails in side each folder by right-clicking on each-folder and selecting download full email bodies.
i've tried to create a rule to retrieve emails from the server.
i've tried to edit the schedule to make sure each folder was selected in the advanced options and selected all messages. Strangely enough that setting (in the folder synchronisation window) disappears every time i restart entourage.
i've tried setting up a new identity.
i've tried setting up a new identity on a different imap server.
i've spent hours on google but haven't found any thing helpful except the things i tried as mentioned above.
none of this has been working. i believe i'm doing something wrong as other people seem to be able to work offline with entourage but can't find what.
any help is appreciated.
thanks,

Brett

P.S. I also configured the same IMAP account in Mail.app and all works fine. Entoruage is the my preferred mail client.

That's how IMAP works. Everything is on the server.

The schedule should do what you want. The fact that the settings are not
sticking indicates a problem. If you User account an admin account?

Let's test:

1) Go to System Preferences --> Create a New User in Accounts. Switch to the
New User by logging out/in or use Fast User Switching.

2) Open Entourage and enter the account and make your selections in the
Schedule. Does it stick? If yes, then it's a problem in your regular User's
account.

The terms User and Identity are often confused. See Tech Terms. Explains
some basics for Entourage that's also helpful.

Basic terms used with Entourage and the Apple Operating System (OS) to help
new users and switchers.
