Hello, I need to request more details about the solution to Entourage losing all identity details on reboot: a solution was proposed.

I need a more detailed set of instructions: how for example do I trash the identity in the MS User Data in documents??

Thanks

Please start from the beginning and explain your problem and the solution
were offered, or reply to that post. It's hard to answer your question
without context.

I discovered (after a period of normal use) that when I rebooted all account details and stored emails (Gmail account) had vanished. Entourage had returned to a first use state.

Microsoft User Data appears as a folder in Documents.

A solution was proposed on Mactopia involving moving the identity in the MUD folder to Trash. I was not at all clear how this would be accomplished.

The problem is almost always because the user moves his Microsoft User
Data (MUD) folder out of its required location. Entourage looks for the
MUD *only* in ~/Documents where " ~ " is the user's home folder. It can
not be moved out of ~/Documents nor moved into other folders.

The only exception to this is if you replace the "Microsoft User Data"
folder with an alias to the original folder.

Hope this helps!

There is one user that is always advising this, but never gives the warning
that doing so will erase all of your mail.

This is usually user error. Entourage expects the Microsoft User Data
folder to be in your Documents folder. For OS X users, that's the Documents
folder in your User's folder.

Did you move the Microsoft User Data folder out of your Documents folder?
