I am having the same stupid problem. Mine says error 1311 cannot locate
file D:\sku111.cab. Please check and verify that this file exists and
that you have access to it.
I did a bunch of research on line and a lot of it seemed to
indicate it was a problem with administrator and everyone having access
to the CD ROM drive and they wanted me to cut and paste the entire DVD
onto the hard drive and then try to install it that way. Well, I did
that and still no luck. Does anyone know what to do? I cannot believe
I've only had this stupid program a few days and am already having
problems with it.

Oh my gosh it worked!!! Ok - here's what I did - not that I woul
necessarily recommend trying this at home but it looks like I stumble
on something that actually worked for once. Ok - after copying an
pasting the entire installation DVD onto my hard drive I tried t
install it. It got almost all the way through and then I got tha
stupid error and it backpedled itself to the beginning. Now I can'
for the life of me remember why I did this but I (without closin
anything else out or anything) told it to do it again. This time I go
a prompt asking if I wanted a clean install, a repair, or an uninstall.
I chose repair just to see what would happen. It worked!! After abou
20 minutes or so it said the thing had been repaired and that I neede
to restart. So I did. Then I double clicked on outlook 2007 and jus
as I did that stupid "Upgrade or Customize" screen came up again and
thought oh no. But I just closed the window altogether and so far I'v
tested out Word and Outlook 2007 and they both seem to be working. Goo
luck

Hi Pete,

Generally, that error comes from having a damaged or missing Office 2003 Local Installation Source (LIS) \MSOCache. The folder can
sometimes be deleted in a disk or registry cleanup of some type.
