P

pryfogle

Macbook
OSX: 10.5.8
Office 2008

Every time I click on Excel (Icon in dock), the application starts for a
split second, then crashes. The only way I can get the application to open
is by holding down the shift key while starting the app.

The first section of the error log is below.

Please help!!!

First, you are at least 3 Office updates behind. Please update XL fully.

Second, try, with all Office apps closed, renaming (or deleting) the

~/Library/Preferences/com.microsoft.Excel.plist
~/Library/Preferences/com.microsoft.office.plist

files, and the

~/Library/Preferences/Microsoft

folder (where ~ is your home directory).

worked, just renamed the first file to ~/Library/Preferences/com.microsoft.Excel.dodgy.plist
and it all worked!

Thanks
