Exchange 2003

I have a client using Exchange 2003 with no special security settings.
Currently, he's running Windows XP Pro on the Dell system with Outlook 2003.
He's thinking of switching his office systems over to the Mac.

As part of the transition, I took a MacBook to his office. It's running
MacOS 10.6.3 and Entourage 2008 12.2.4 with Exchange support. With Exchange
server values in hand, I attempted to establish his Exchange account in
Entourage. However, the verification process indicates the username and/or
password are not correct. I have no problem accessing his account through
Safari using the very username and password that Entourage will not accept.

Today, the company's Windows IT consultant met me at the company's office to
explore the problem. He tried several combinations of settings in Entourage,
but still ended up with the same error message concerning an incorrect
username and/or password for the account.

Is there something obvious that we're overlooking?

You might need to add the domain name after the user name.

_before_ the username, not after it!

i.e.: DOMAIN\[email protected]

Thanks, Diane and Barry. I'll be in the client's office on Monday. I'll let
you know what happens.

This didn't work.

Curious, I installed Windows 7 Professional running under Parallels 5
virtualization software on my MacBook. Once that was installed I added
Outlook 2003 to the mix and had absolutely no problem configuring my
client's account and seeing all of his folders, contacts and calendar
events. I could access his account with this setup using a wired or wireless
connection.

I¹ve never been able to access his account with a wireless connection using
Entourage. It only ³connects² with a wired connection and the DAV setting
checked. However, I never see any data but his calendar. When I right-click
on any of his folders, his contact list, or his calendar and check Folder
Properties in Entourage, I see values in Storage section, but, again, I
never see any data in Entourage.

Any other suggestions?
