Can anybody please help with this query? 2of2

I'm currently working on a PPT (Office 2004) document on a MAC PRO running OS X 10.4.11. I have created a 7 slide presentation which needs translating on 24ish languages. I've been supplied text but is there a way of copying from a PDF/Word doc and keep my the text formatting without using the 'FORMAT PAINTER' button. I've also tried 'PASTING SPECIAL' but this dosn't seem to work.
Can anybody please help.
Thanks in advance

I'm afraid you'll have to be more specific about what formatting is
involved, whether was applied as a Style or as direct formatting & what
isn't being "kept".

Copying from a Word document here, where Styles have been used, then pasting
using Edit> Paste Special - Styled Text presents no problem.

Thanks, I'll be more specific.
I have a text box with the a 'intro paragraph' in Arial Bold at 28pt, blue. I've got a word document with the translation for this paragraph. I would like to be able to copy the translated text from the word document and paste it into my PPT into what ever styled text I have. I've styled the text by highlighting the copy, changing the size, weight within the 'Font' area.

I've tried to copy the text from the word doc, then 'Paste Special - Styled text' into the PPT but this pastes it in at the style it was originally in the Word doc?

Sorry, I had the impression that you wanted to *retain* the formatting from
the source. AFAIK there is no way to get pasted text in PPt 2004 to assume
the formatting of the destination text box. I'd suggest that you create a
Style in Word that matches the formatting you're using in PPt, [You could
use direct formatting rather than a style but you'd have to do so for each
instance.] Apply that style to the copy, then use the Paste Special - Styled
Text option to get it into your slide.

Would it work to copy the text from Word, paste into a plain text editor
(simpletext or the like) and from there to PPT?
