Grammar and Spelling Check doesn't work in 2007

Grammar and Spelling Check doesn't work in my Word document 2007.
I have tried different options examples:
I have looked into Set Language, I have unchecked the detect language
automatically and do not check spelling or grammar boxes, set it as default;
I have also checked check spelling and grammar as you type and I unchecked
hide spelling errors.
I ma not sure what else to do.
Can somebody please help me?

Hello Nika,

You've landed in a discussion group for users of Mac versions of Word (not
your fault: it's a charming foible of MS's "discussions" web interface,
which I see you used). Mac versions differ variously from PC versions.
Although several people here use both PCs and Macs and may give you an
answer soon, it's likely that more people in a PC group have experienced
