How is "Assignment Baseline Work" working?

Hi there I am completely lost with Project Server regarding Assignment
Baseline Work?
I'd like to generate a report (using Reporting Services) which gives per
Project, per Task, per Resource, on a day by day basis, planned work and
actual work.
Actual work is retrieved within MSP_EpmAssignmentByDay.AssignmentActualWork
field.
Where to find the Planned work?
I had a look at MSP_EpmAssignmentByDay_UserView.AssignmentBaseline0Work but
unfortunately this field is not systematically filled!
I browsed the database and I found that in very few cases this field
contained some data...most of the time it is NULL or set to 0.
I cannot find any logic! (I don't think there diffrerent ways to set a
baseline...)

Thanks for your help

So in Microsoft Project there are four sets of fields for schedule data:
Work -- then is the current plan these may change depending on if you are
ahead or behind schedule
Actual Work --- the actual having been done
Remaining Work --- the amount of work need to complete the task
Baseline Work --- this is set by the PM when the schedule has been aggreed
to this is used to compare to work for tracking if you are ahead or behind
schedule.

Hope this helps

You can use MSP_EpmAssignmentByDay.AssignmentWork to show what the current
project plan work is by day. This will always be populated whereas the
baseline work might not be if the PM did not baseline their schedule or did
a partial baseline for example.

Jonathan,
Thanks for your reply

Yes I already use this value
But my question really is about why
MSP_EpmAssignmentByDay_UserView.AssignmentBaseline0Work doesn't content
expected values ?
I am the PM for all projects managed within my "rather small" company and I
can confirm that I did baseline for each all projects: using Tracking Gantt
view of Project Professional I can check it easily...

So is-it a bug from Project Server?
Thanks for your help

Thanks Gary

I regularly check "manage queue" jobs list and I didn't notice any failed or
stalled queue jobs...
Could somebody here could check if those fields are effectively and
correctly set on your installations?
More especially the field
MSP_EpmAssignmentByDay_UserView.AssignmentBaseline0Work
(remind I am using PS2007, SP1 + IU)

This field is supposed to contain the last baseline value, isn't it?
Older values being shifted to AssignmentBaseline1Work, then
AssignmentBaseline2Work, etc...

thanks for your inputs
