Version: 2008
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: Intel
Email Client: pop

Hi, I use Entourage and have a POP account with ATT. I need to set up send and receive from a secondary email using this same ATT address. I used to have it set up to work this way but had to reinstall entourage and lost the settings.

I remember under Tools/Accounts/Options/Additional headers, I set it to header: reply-to and value: (e-mail address removed) (my email address). That works for sending but when people email me at (e-mail address removed) I am not receiving.

Can you please tell me what I'm forgetting? THANKS!!!

Under Tools menu --> Accounts... click the New button to create a new
account.

When you have two or more accounts, you will see a drop-down menu next
to the From field in new mail messages you create.

Hope this helps!

Hi Bill, thanks for your response. Will this work if this email address is not tied to my ISP? Meaning it's not a registered email account with them. Would the account type be exchange instead of POP?

It will work if your ISP allows you send mail from other addresses. Some
won't, in order to reduce spam. If you're using att.net, however, as I am,
you can make it work.

If yours will, you will have to set the SMTP information for the new account
to have the same ID, password, and other information as the old account. In
other words, the account for the SMTP will not match the basic account
information for the new account.

Hi Ed,

When I try to set it as a new account using the same id and password as my att POP account, i immediately get an email from att asking me to validate the email address. I went through the steps but final confirmation is a code that they send to the address you're trying to set up and I cant retrieve email from this address because it's not set up correctly in my entourage.

I signed on for DSL servie with ATT which provide me with this @sbcglobal.net email address. I started a new business and wanted an email address with my business name so instead of paying them a monthly fee to have this email address for my business, someone at their technical support center walked me through the set up on entourage so that I could receive and send using my sbcglobal, net email address but for all appearances, it was my business email address. People would email me at (e-mail address removed) and I would receive it through my sbcglobal.net address. When I sent emails, people would see my business address in the From field.

Problem is, my hardrive crashed, had to reinstall entourage and the settings were lost. I've tried calling their technical support center several times but I always seem to get someone who is not all that familiar with entourage for mac and they've been no help.

Sorry for the looong story but I wanted to make sure you understood what I'm trying to do. Let me know if you have any other thoughts but in any case, thanks for reaching out and trying to help.

Can you access your account via your browser? Get the info using web access
to your email account.

You should be able to use ATT to send using your other account. Put in
everything for that account, but for SMTP use the ATT setting, or use relay.
Most domain names come with instructions for using with your ISP.

You mentioned this was a new business. If you don't have backup then it's
time to start. Get an external drive and set up a backup strategy.
