Version: 2004
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: Intel
Email Client: pop

I have an iMac and MacBook both with Entourage 2004. Both share the same POP address....I am trying to figure out why the MacBook Entourage receives the email sometimes and then the iMac receives the email...and vice versa.

It would seem to me that the received email would go to both. Does one of the computers supersede the other?

I can send emails from both computers.

Advice would be appreciated.

POP accounts are generally set to download and delete from server. You need
to set the accounts to "leave on server." This is under the Options tab for
your Account. Don't forget to set when to delete from server.

Another option is to set your Account on the MacBook to "leave on server"
and then when you download to you iMac to delete after downloading.

One of the options is "if deleted on computer, delete from server." You
might like this to keep spam deleted from the server and not have to
download to the other computer. Be sure you nuke the spam and not just send
it to Deleted Items folder.

In closing, I might suggest you switch to an IMAP account. This would solve
the problem you are having keeping two computers in sync.

Hope this helps!
