Improve Quality of clarity for Excel Graph linked in PowerPoint

I have a large PowerPoint document with numerous active links to an Excel
document (including both Texts and Graphs). I would like to maintain them as
active links so that I can do easy updates of the PowerPoint by updating
Excel. However, the quality of the text and the graphs are not as good in
PowerPoint as they show up in Excel. Once linked, the image becomes a bit
'blurry' for lack of a better description.
I am looking for a way to keep the items linked and not lose the clarity of
the text and graphs. I know I could probably past them in PowerPoint as
pictures or jpg.s but then I lose the ability to do easy updates.
Any help is very much appreciated.
