Installing Publisher 2002 With Office 2003 Installed

KC

I have tried several times to install Publisher 2002 on an XP laptop that
already has Office 2003 installed. Every time it says it installed fine, and
every time I cannot locate the program or launch icon anywhere, nor does a
search even say it is on my system, except that it IS there when I look to
Add of Remove programs.

I want to use this program - Help, please. What do I need to do?

Try installing Publisher in its own folder. Create a folder on your hard drive,
when prompted select the folder. I've many versions of Publisher installed, each
in a separate folder.

I made a 'MSoft Publisher' folder in My Documents. Should it have been
somewhere else? What does it matter?

Is that where you actually installed the program or is it just a folder you
created for the documents? I'm asking because my next step is to ask you if
you've gone to that folder and looked for the .exe file.

It is where I installed the program and the .exe is not there. Frustrating -
we had an older PC die and this is needed for occasional uses but still
useful to us, hence why I am trying to install a six year old program.

Did you get that copy of Publisher with the other computer?

Use a folder on your hard drive, not My Documents. Is Publisher 2002 listed in
the remove programs in the Control Panel? The folder Publisher creates within
your new folder is called Office10.

To both Mary and JoAnn - yes, the product was on the older PC, but purchased
separately. I did install it in a non-My Docs folder on the new PC and,
while it shows up in the Remove Programs area indicating it exists somewhere,
it does not show up anywhere else, in Office10 or in the folder to which I
installed it. There is no .exe. I know this makes no sense, but there you
are.
