Installing Ultimate 207 in Vista

PC came with trial 2007 Student edition.
According to KB 928218, I uninstalled all Office related programs, as well
as Works, using Add/Remove Programs. I did not do the steps under "MORE
INFORMATION".

I then inserted the first DVD for Office Ultimate.
I forgot to select "Run all from my Computer", so the 2nd DVD was never
requested.
So I then re-inserted the DVD and requested added features, but the "Run all
from my Computer" setting does not seem to stick.

How do I get everything installed as "Run all from my Computer"?

I then clicked on the Office desktop icon.
It asked me for the key for the TRIAL version, even tho Add/Remove Programs
lists Office Ultimate as being installed.

I just used Add/Remove Programs to uninstall Office Ultimate and system is
now rebooting.
Interesting, even tho I uninstalled Ultimate 2007, the MSFT Office icon is
still on the desktop.

Ah, just noticed that I also need to uninstall the Activation Assistant for
the 2007 MSFT Office suites.

How do I get rid of trial version?
Do I have to follow the steps in KB 92818?

How do I get "Run all from my Computer" setting(s) to stick?

You'd think that by now MSFT would have figured out how to make an
uninstall/install work properly

OK, I have re-installed Ultimate, with apparently no trace of the trial
version remaining.

However, the install still did not ask me to insert the 2nd DVD.

What's on the 2nd DVD?

How can I assure that all is installed so that I "Run all from My Computer"?

Hi Howard,

Generally, the second CD has MS Office Accounting Express (could be the 2007 version rather than the 2008 version that is
downloadable) and the Outlook Business Contact Manager Add-in.

CD#2 should have its own setup program for those.

Thanx.

I'll take a look at the CD.
You'd think that there'd be accompanying documentation on how to install.

I read the appendix on installing in the MSFT PRess Inside Out book, did not
notice anything about this. Might be covered within the book.
