Link to PowerPoint presentation

When I open a PowerPoint presentation (which I created) from a hyperlink in
Word, Excel, or PowerPoint, it always opens in slideshow view. When I
physically navigate to it, or open it via an Outlook e-mail link, it opens
fine in edit mode.

This happens on all the machines I've tried. I'm not saving as a slide show.
It definitely has a .PPT extension. It resides on my own hard drive. Is this
a "feature" of PP or Office? How can I force it to open in edit mode from a
hyperlink?

I am running Windows XP with Office 2003.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Yes hyperlinks open in show mode.

If you need it to open in edit mode in a powerpoint show Insert > Object >
from file and give it an "object action" of "edit" in custom animation

Did that answer the question / help?

Thanks, John, but I don't want to insert the PP as an Object in my Word (or
Excel) file. I want to be able to click on the hyperlink and have the PPT
file open in edit mode. Perhaps that's not possible.
