Linking a visio office plan to an excel spreadsheeet

Hello
i have created a visio office floor plan from importing the information from
a excel data base and placing the shapes in the correct location. since then
i have updated the floor plan to add more information. then i exported the
information back out to a excel spreadsheet.

the end result that im trying to achieve is to save the floorplan as a web
page (did that and it looks great) but i need to have the spredsheet linked
to the page so it can be updated by a admin asst. that has no knowledge of
Visio. and the result is reflected in the floor plan. the updating would only
include either changing peoples properties or moving people to different
cubes.

i have done some on-line totorials and i have purchased and read a couple
books but i just can not figure out how to link correctly. any help would be
greatly appreciated

have a good thanksgiving

Thank you for the responce, since your post i have been surfing and learning
from your advise to search msdn. It looks like i might have to create my map
differently to make it work like the demo i found. i cant get the information
to update all the links at once when they are updated in the spreadsheet but
they do update now. so that is a step in the right direction. thnaks again
for your help and if you have any more sgestions i would appreciate it.

hey there... i was curious if you could forward me any information you've
found on this matter as well. i've been digging and digging, and looking for
software to build something like this, and i keep coming up empty handed. i
thought about doing it in flash, but for reasons like you, with wanting
someone who doesn't know that much about certain programs, to be able to get
in there and make changes.

any info would help.
thanks,
jason

Jason i never really got any good information. but i did make a nice
interface. the only problem i have not turned the edditing over to the other
person because i have to edit the access spredsheet the refresh each space on
the visio document then save to the web. i coulnd not get the auto refresh to
work and i could not just say fresh to all spaces. :( but the end result
turned out real good. one other problem is now other divisions here at
Kenworth want me to do this for them and im not sure i want to :). hope this
helps a little
