Live Dynamics isn't working in Visio 2003

I am using Visio Pro 2003, SP3, all updates installed. Some weeks ago, the
Live Dynamics function stopped working. I didn't know what that feature was
called at the time, so I didn't know how to try to fix it, until I stumbled
upon it in the Options menu. The "Live Dynamics" function had somehow become
unchecked, so I re-checked it. It remains checked, but the function is still
not working. I doubt that this is a memory issue with my computer, as I have
2GB RAM installed. I doubt that it's a processor issue either, not with a
Core 2 running at 2.16GHz. Does anyone have any ideas what could be
preventing this function from working? Thanks for any input.

Hi Pat,

There are also per-shape settings in the ShapeSheet that can turn off
some the live dynamics stuff. (Window > Show ShapeSheet) For instance,
the Miscellaneous section has a NoLiveDynamics cell.

Also, shapes that are grouped, and have many sub-shapes won't display a
preview right-away when you start dragging.

I'm not sure these is what's happening to you, but perhaps some starting
points...

Thanks for the tips, but so far, it hasn't solved this problem. I tried
clicking and dragging individual shapes that were not grouped, and the
behavior is the same, that is, not "live" image of the shape during the drag,
only an outline of the shape boundary. And there didn't seem to be anything
on the ShapeSheet that let me control that behavior, either. Still looking
for a soluton. This used to work on my computer, but now it doesn't. Pretty
frustrating.
