Marking Resource leaving the organization

Dear MPP users,

I have this scenario.

Task A: Assigned to resource R1, H1 hours of actual effort spent. H2
'remaining work' left to complete.

R1 is now leaving the organization, and the H2 hours need to be assigned to
a new resource R2. How do I indicate that in the MPP?

Do I assign R2 to task A, reduce the 'remaining work' of R1 to zero and then
move the hours to R2 and then do resource leveling?

How do I indicate to the MPP that R1 is no longer available.

Thanks,
Prashanth

Resources can be replaced on the project very easily. Select the impacted
task(s) and then click the "Assign Resources" icon on the standard toolbar,
the Assign Resources dialog box appears. Select the obsolete resource and
the click "Replace..."

The assign resource dialog box requests a replacement resource which may be
1 or more resources to take the place of the obsolete resource. Click OK.
Repeat as needed.

On the Resource sheet, change the obsolete resource availability to 0%.
Deleting the resource removes their completed work from the file --- oops!

When assigning resources to new tasks, the Assign Resource dialog allows for
filtering of resources by availability. In your case, R1 would be excluded.
