Can you be more specific about what you mean by "missing"? Missing from
where? What exactly gives you that impression? Have you tried typing the
functions? What response when you do?

Additionally, make sure Office is fully updated - 12.1.5 is the current
level. Repair disk permissions, restart your Mac & see if the problem
continues. Include all results if you need to respond.

Missing mean when i try to type the function it gives error not valid name, and when i try to find the function "vlookup" in the list of the functions....

I have the version 12.1.7 student version

I'm afraid your continuing reluctance to provide any descriptive details
makes it very difficult to determine what the problem is. All built-in
functions offered in Excel are a part of the same component, they aren't
individually scattered around somewhere on your system, so if you have *any*
functions in the Function Builder Palette (which is what I assume you mean
by "list of the functions" they should *all* be there.

It also isn't clear what you're referring to as " error not valid name ". At
exactly what point is it displaying? Is it in some sort of message box? If
so, exactly what does it say? Or do you mean the cell displays the #NAME?
error? What is the specific formula you're entering?

Try logging in while holding the Shift key - Does the problem persist? Have
you tried running Excel when logged in using a different User Account? Do
you have the same problem there?

Nobody here can see over your shoulder - we can only go by what you tell us
& so far that isn't very much.
