multiple main identity windows

Version: 2004
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger)
Processor: Power PC
Email Client: pop

One of our users is getting multiple main identity windows
Main Identity
Main Identity 2
Main Identity 3
.. . .
Main Identity 8

NOt sure how this multiple windows are propagating, they just seem to appear. It is not happening because an email has been received or sent.

This also seems to slow operations of Entourage as it seems Entourage must "keep track" of all these windows.

The windows all appear to be exact copies of each other.

I Rebuilt the Database- but that did not seem to help.

The user has only 1 Main Identity.

Somehow the user is opening the additional windows. Just close them. I do it
occasionally myself.

Thanks but that isn't it. These New Main Window are "magically" opening seemingly without any user intervention. Pretty sure it is a "bug" not a feature ;)

Then why doesn't everyone have this problem if it's a bug?

This is a preference setting that tells Entourage to open a new main
window whenever a mail folder is double-clicked.

Go to Entourage menu --> Preferences... --> General --> General
Preferences and UNcheck the very first item:

Double-clicking in the Folders list opens a new window

Hope this helps!
