New round: Update cant find data.msi file on my disk

Okeydokey. WinXP computer. Original MSO was actually MSO97 and updated to
MSO2000. All the apps work just fine. I am still using IE 6.x, SP2 and it
also works fine, generally. Lately, though, there have been a LOT of sites
that want to update something. Never tells me what, just starts the process.
When I allow it to actually request something, it wants the disk for
MSOfficePro2000 and is looking for data1.msi. I do not have other installs
that might have used a data1.msi file, unless it wants the one from the
MSOffice97 disk. Is that possible??

Office 97 doesn't have a data1.msi file on the CD. Office 2000 does, as
do several other standalone 2000-series Microsoft applications such as
Project and Visio. If you look in Control Panel | Add or Remove
Programs, do you see any 2000-series Microsoft applications other than
Office 2000 in the list of installed programs? If yes, then try
inserting the CD for that application.
