Operating System: Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger) Processor: Intel I am creating a table
format in a cell shows unwanted blank line below text. blank line cannot be deleted
click to show nonprinting characters. That line preceded by a "square-like" character
cannot find info on: what it is? how to get rid of it?
waste much time in fuitless search

thanks for help

The "square-like character" is most likely the 'end of content" marker - one
should appear in each cell and at the end of each row. It sounds like the
return key was pressed after the cell content was typed which - just as in
the document content - forces a line break denoting the end of one paragraph
& the start of a new one.

You should be able to place the insertion point at the beginning of the
"blank line" & backspace or go to the end of the existing content & press
delete to remove the empty paragraph.

Thanks for the help. If you know a place where these non-printing characters could be are listed and identified that might be helpful. I might have been able to figure out a solution to my problem if I had that information

Thanks
