when I reinstall I do the whole deal so I'm running Word 12.1.0. I "dropped" both .mov & .jpg files with iMedia into a word doc and got a file name instead of a picture. I did check QuickTime with other software and all went well. So it seems that accessing movie files via the object palette is the bug. As long as a file/roll does not have a movie file then all go pretty well--I can drag/drop/cut/paste--I haven't tried using the object palette with Elements yet, but the simple stuff with photos seems stable.
