Office 2000 SR-1 Issue

My computer once had Office 2000 SR-1 on it and now I am unable to
uninstall the program through the control panel. Upon going to control panel
and trying to remove the program I continue to get "Insert the Microsoft
Office 2000 SR-1" disk and click OK. In the lower box I am getting Use
Source: Microsoft Office 2000 Disc 2. I have not had Office 2000 on this
computer for several years now and have never really had time to sit down and
full try and remove it until now.
Does anyone out there know how to remove this off of the computer? I have
also removed Office 2003 off of the computer until I can get this out and I
need the Office products running.

Yes on the 03 Office. Never had any problems on it. I want to install 07
now and am trying to clean this thing up.

Yes but the original poster says that O2K hasn't been on his computer for
several years now, which could imply that his problem is a corrupted
registry and not a recalcitrant program. If this is the case, the Cleanup
tool would be appropriate.

He also stated that 2003 ran fine, so the clean up tool is only going to
remove the the installer & the entry in Add/Remove, and will have no impact
on the rest of the registry, there the process seams a bit redundent

Well short of manual removal, in the registry, or format / install of win,
simply install 2007, hopefully it might recognise 02k and offer to upgrade
thereby removing it

The cleanup will solve his add-remove problem, which is what he was
complaining about.
