Office 2000 to Office 2007 without data1.msi

Can I upgrade to Office2007 if my current Office 2000 cannot find data1.msi?
I understand what the data1.msi is for, I am really asking whether I can
purchase 2007 upgrade, or do I need full version (will that even work?)?

I have the 2007 trial installed and would like to upgrade. I just need to
know what version, upgrade or full, will work if I can't find data1.msi for
Office 2000.

Any help would be appreciated.
