Office applications crash on launch

[tacologic]

Whenever I open a Microsoft Office application, it quits. This happens for
Entourage, Word, Excel and Powerpoint. The problem happened with version 12.
1.1, and again after I upgraded to 12.1.2. I ran a permissions fix as well,
and recreated the problem on another user account on this computer.

If these applications are the only one to crash (eg: *all* other third
party apps are fine), then you should consider uninstalling Office,
reinstalling it and re-updating it.

In any case, make sure your System is also up to date, and make sure you
repair Permissions on your Mac through Disk Utility.

I did that, which fixed the problem. However, I still don't know what caused
this to happen in the first place, and am a little worried that it may happen
again.

I suspect that the udpater choked at some point during the last update
you ran, leaving all apps corrupted (incomplete)

Hi, I'm having the same issue, but neither uninstalling and reinstalling Office 2008 nor repairing permissions has helped. I don't think it would be related to an update since it had been weeks between any updates have been implemented and the emergence of the issue. Any one have any other ideas?

Hi, I'm having the same issue, but neither uninstalling and reinstalling
Office 2008 nor repairing permissions has helped.

Please do not insert your problem in a thread just because the name is
similar. Always start your own discussion.

Any one have any other ideas?

I see font mentioned over and over in the code. I suspect it's a font
problem.
