office update not working

I've recently installed Office 2000 Professional on a W2K PC, and when
I do an update, it says I need the SR1 update, so I download that file,
but when trying to install it I get window that says:
The Feature you are trying to use is on the CD-ROM....instert the MS
Office 2000 Premium disk and click OK.

But when I put the disk in the drive and click ok, I get an error
window that says:
The File "MS 2000 Premium" is not a valid installation package for the
product MS Office 2000 Premium. Try to find the installation package
'data1.msi' in a folder from which you can install MS Office 2000
Premium.

I don't understand what to do. I have the disk, it's
legeitimate...what's going on? I've searched the CD as well and there
is a file called data1.msi. This makes no sense to me, I don't feel
like this should not be working.

"The file 'D:\DATA1.MSI' is not a valid installation package for the
product Microsoft Office 2000 SR-1 Premium" error message that
indicates incorrect CD-ROM is inserted when you install or repair
Office 2000
