If you had stated this in your original post, I wouldn't have suggested this again. Have you tried copying the contents of the CD to your hard drive, then attempting to install from the hard drive? Be sure you are logged in as Administrator or as a user with administrator privileges on the system. Turn off any antivirus programs you're running before starting the installation.

I have had this problem also. I have turned off the Norton's, loaded it to the harddrive to install, taken every reference to Office out of the registry and taken ownership in Administrator logon of the entire harddrive. Nothing seems to get rid of this error. Is there a virus that we are all fighting but not identified yet?
