Office XP

I am having problems with office XP becoming very slow. This includes excel
and word. I have all the office and windows xp updates installed. I
uninstalled the software, reloaded, and reinstalled the updates. Excel and
Word were faster for about 15 min and then they are super slow now. It takes
over 30 sec to get the open window to open completely, and over 2 min for the
open window to close. All other apps are running at normal speed while all
this is happening. If I reboot, word and excel are still extremely slow. I
disabled symantec and this did not help. Please help.
thanks

If Norton has the office plugin configured, uninstall Norton, use the tool
on Norton site to completely remove, then test again.

The answer is simple. Don't accept the updates. The daily updates do
little or nothing but they just slow your computer down eventually. Go
back to square one and stay there and you'll have no problems.
