OneNote Mobile not syncing, giving "Attention Required" error

With OneNote 2007 on my PC, I installed OneNote mobile on my treo 750 (which
using Windows Mobile 5.0). This installation works perfectly and I can use
the OneNote mobile version on my phone without any problems.

However, when I try and sync the notes, Microsoft ActiveSync gives me an
"Attention Required" error, but it does not explain the error. When right
click I can click "resolve items" but it just tries to re-sync and always
comes with the same error. It first asks gives me a dialog box asking
whether I would like to "Combine the items on my device with the items on
this computer", "Replace the items on my device with the items on this
computer", or "do not synchronize this information type at this time". But
whichever option I choose, I get the same result.

I have upgraded to Microsoft ActiveSync 4.5. I have also tried resintalling
the mobile OneNote version and resetting both my phone and PC with no avail.
Everything else (email, calendar, contacts, tasks, notes, and favorites) sync
with no problems through ActiveSync. Other posts on this forum mentioned
that upon installing OneNote Mobile, a new "One Note Mobile" notebook was
automatically created to be used to sync - however that did not happen for
me. I tried to make a new notebook with that name but it still didn't work.

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

At this point I would suggest blowing away the partnership within AS and
letting it create it anew when you attach the device. This should redo
the syncing settings.

I had a similar issue which came up after I had reset my PDA. It
appears a number of notebook files were still maintained in the OneNote
cache folder located at

C:\Documents and Settings\_YOUR USER NAME_\Local Settings\Application
Data\Microsoft\OneNote\12.0

I moved all my working notebook files out of their regular My Documents
folder to start with a clean slate.

By deleting all of those files manually, the sync was able to
re-establish itself. The path can also be found in OneNote 2007 by
going to Tools > Options > Save and looking at the "Cache file location"
directory.

I had have this problem and I solved it deleting and recreting "OneNot
Mobile" folder. Obviously, I have first saved my notes..
