Outlook should offer imbedded advanced/specific task features

I would love to see specific task features that are not "limited to" the
typical Outlook features. Case in point: birthdays. Right now, if I wanted
to remember my friend Jose's birthday, I would create an Outlook Contact,
include his birthday in it, and be a recurring all-day event would occur in
my calendar. I also have to add a task to remind myself send him an e-mail
that day using my tasks. Also, if I wanted to send him a card, I would need
an early reminder, so that may be another task.

My idea: have a specific birthday/anniversary feature. Instead of a
typical pop-up window with a reminder, include a bar that appears at the top
of the Outlook program (similar to the Outlook bar that says "Extra line
breaks in this message were removed) that says, "Today is Jose Gonzales's
26th birthday!" When you click on the bar, instead of a typical "task
complete" option, a menu appears that offers options:

-Send 'Jose Gonzales' an e-mail.
-Send 'Jose Gonzales' your birthday template e-mail.
-Send 'Jose Gonzales' a personalized birthday e-mail.
-Send 'Jose Gonzales' a gift from MSN shopping using his wishlist
-Send 'Jose Gonzales' a gift from Amazon.com using his wishlist

This "birthday template" does not have to be a dull message. It can be a
personalized message that the user creates that Outlook just plugs in the
name and age. For example:

"Dear <name>:

Happy <age> birthday! I am so happy for you this day! I hope you get to
celebrate all day long and even celebrate into the night.

Take care of yourself and let me know how it was.

Leigh :)"

Also, my method of currently keeping birthday gift ideas is using the notes
section, where I put their interests, hobbies, collections, etc. I would
love to have a gift idea section (that even would tie in to Amazon.com or
ebay!).

I know this is a lot, but I think this is an area that a consolidated
calendaring system like MS Outlook could really utilize to up the ante!
