Outlook's speed crippled after blaster patch

I have installed the Blaster patch to my XP op system and
have installed the latest Norton anti-virus utility. I'm
virus free, but my Outlook application is taking at least
three times as long to send/receive. Any suggestions?

Hi Kent. I just posted a message of my own regarding the
virus and Outlook unrelated to the speed of your computer
but I wanted to let you know that it took a couple of
days of having my system up and running after the virus
was removed before my computer got up to speed again. I
was very concerned about the speed the first time I
turned my system on and the second time, it was back to
normal. I know its not much to offer but I just wanted to
let you know that was my experience.
