Overallocated or Not?

Hi,

I've been reading some older posts to understand why I'm seeing an
overallocated resource in the Resource Graph but not in the hours of Work;
it's not quite clear to me yet...

My resource is set at Max Units of 50% and, over the course of a couple of
weeks, he has work scheduled for 4 hours or less each day (this makes sense
at 50% availability). However, the graph shows percentages on some of the
days far above 50%, e.g. one day shows 3.85 hours of Work as taking 88% of
the resource's availability.

Leveling is set to Hour-by-Hour and from what I've read so far, the resource
probably has some tasks overlapping by at least a minute since leveling by
Minute-by-Minute clears the overallocation. Am I on track here so far?

Should I leave leveling at Minute-by-Minute? Are there reasons I shouldn't
go to that much resolution?

These overallocations occur as I'm entering the Actual Work values each week
after which Project levels the tasks. Thanks.

Hi,

Resource graph standard shows Peak Units.
Right Click on the graphical part select Work or Percent allocation.
Find the explanation on why this is overallocated in
http://www.mvps.org/faqs.htm
Faq 34. Overallocation occurs in less than one day

Aren't YOU overallocated when you have two meetings scheduled 9-10 a.m. even
if nothing else to do the rest of the day? This sets your peak units to 200!
