Page Border> Custom Art selections

E

Eric

I am running Word 2002. I am trying to engage the Format> Borders and Shading> Page Borders (tab)> Art (drop down
The only selection currently in the drop-down is (none) and I have no option to add Art borders to this list
How can I display a selection of page border art within this drop down list
The Clip art gallery is functioning correctly

Testing Note: I replaced the normal.dot as a test. On relaunch of Word and format> borders and shading> art I was immediatley prompted to install page border art when I selected the drop down for Art within the page border tab of the Borders and Shading window. Selecting "yes" installed the list of borders correctly.
I repeated this test and selected "no" to install the list of page border art. I was not prompted again on any subsequent attempts to use the process and can find no way to manually add clip art borders to this list. Without replacing the normal.dot, how can a user add border art to this custom list

Hi Eric

Two items:

1) There is no way to add "custom" art to the border list (i.e., art that
isn't supplied on the Office CD). What MS supplies is it, period.

2) Once you decline to install the standard border art, you won't be
prompted again. You can request it by going through the installer (Control
Panel > Add/Remove Programs > select Office and click Change), but you'll
still get only what's on the CD.

If you want a "border" made of your own art, use a graphics program to make
a JPG or GIF file containing a page-sized rectangle. Insert that in your
document or template (best to anchor it in the header) and send it Behind
Text.
