PERT Entry Sheet and Error Message

H

HT

In both 2003 and 2007, when I open a file and click the PERT Entry Sheet
button, I get an error message that reads:

An error occurred in the COM Add-in named: PERT Analysis Error #:1101. The
file "Tips & Shortcuts PERT Test" was not found.

My only option is to click OK. The PERT Entry Sheet doesn't display. Then I
click the PERT Entry Sheet button again, get the error message again, click
OK, and the PERT entry sheet DOES show.

Does anyone know why this error message displays? I've had the problem in
other files too, not just this one...

Thanks,
Heather

Heather,

This sounds like a conflict with components/entities in the Organiser - you
open a project and try to use a component that does not "reside" in your
project file - once you have resolved the issue in the manner you described
try copying the problematic item to your local Global file, to do this go
Tools>Organiser>Tables and copy the PERT Entry Table from your file to the
Global file. If you are using project with project server there may be other
issues pertaining to duplicated components/entities - please let me know how
you get on with this suggested fix.

HI Dominic,

Thanks for your suggestion. Only hmmm...it still seems to be a problem. But
I only get the error message once, instead of twice. (So that's a step
forward!) I followed your steps. Now when I click to view the PERT Entry
sheet, I get the same error message. But when I click OK it proceeds directly
to the PERT Entry table, rather than returning me to the regular Entry table.
Before, this is where I needed to repeat the step one more time before it
lets me into the PERT Entry table. Now I only get the prompt once, but yet,
the prompt is still there. Seems odd!

Hi Heather,

After copying as per your instructions, I don't get any error when I click
calculate PERT. But I get the same error when I click Optimistic Gantt.

I tried restaring Project also couple of times but I get the same error
message. Is there any way out for this bugging error?

Regards,
Chidha
