Portfolio server 2007 installtion

Dear Portfolio Admin,

I am new to Project server 2007 environment. I have successfully
installed Office Project Server 2007 in 32-bit Win-Server 2003 Enterprise
SP2(EPM SERVER1). My DB Server(SQL Standard 2005 with SP2-DATABASESERVER) is
installed in 64-bit OS.

My doubt is if i install Portfolio server in EPMSERVER1, in order to create
the DB for Portfolio server, will my 64-bit DB server support? and more over
i have installaed SQL reporting service in EPMSERVER1 itself.
While refering the Portfolio server 2007 deployement Guide from Microsoft,
it say Windows shared service 3.0 with project server. but i did not install
any WSS 3.0 in my server. I have install Office Project Server 2007 alone.

And also i have installed the Project Portfolio server with out error in
my lab test server, but i am bit confussed using the ISS web site in
INETMGR, also i am unable to open the http://myservername:81/portfolioserver
(port 81 i have assigned to my default web, my EPM server is running in
sharepoint-80 web site). even if i open the web through ISS browse in
portfolio sever>settings> Gateway configuration by default disabled. Even if
open Portfolio server2007 in IE, i am unable to login to PPS2007. says
account is incorrect. i have used the same account to configure the PPS2007.

I hope my requirement is clearly mentioned above. Please help me to sort
this issuse. I am completely help less. I am really thankfull for your help.
I also searched in web any Spl forum for Portfolio server installation.
but no such a forum found in Web. If u have any Deployment Guide please mail
to me([email protected]).

1.Will my 64-bit DB server allow to create DB for 32-bit Portfolio server2007?
2.How install portfolio server 2007 in my environment?
3.How to use the ISS web site or create for Portfolio server 2007?

Thanks in advance.

Regards,
G.Suresh

Portfolio Server does not support 64-bit SQL Server. If you're running the
32-bit SQL Server on a 64-bit OS, it may work but if it's the 64-bit SQL
Server it will not work.

Dear Dharmesh Patel,

Thanks for your reply. Yes, both server are different Server. I have
gone through the MSPPS 2007 Deployment Guide, but my Scenario is little bit
different, EPMSERVER1 Should hold the Project server and Portfolio Server
config and the Data base server(DATABASE SERVER) should hold the DB of
Project and Protfolio server's.

Mr.Chupacabra mentioned in his reply, Portfolio server will not support
64-bit SQL Server. I have installaed 64-bit SQL Server on 64-bit OS, but i am
able to install my portfolio and Project server's DB in 64-bit OS(PPSAccount
Data, PPSAccount Index).

Please give me more details regards the same.

Thanks,

Regards,

Suresh G
