Prj Server Standalone Migration

We have a project server 2007 install with sql express, we are putting in a
sql 2008 server to house the project server database and a number of other
db's. My question is:

What is the easiest way to do this migration?
- Build a new server with the db on the sql server than try to import the
data?

My initial response would be that it depends on how much workspace content
you plan to move over.

From a PWA perspective, my first thought would be the following:

1) Export the databases from SQL Express. Import into SQL 2008. (I presume
that's possible. I did a quick search and found documentation on how to
do that).
2) Provision a new farm and PWA site using the newly imported databases.

If you have workspace data you want to keep, then it's kind of a question
of whether or not PWA and the workspaces are in the same site collection
(which is the default configuration). If not, then just attach the content
db and relink the sites using the Relinker tool. If yes, then it's a bit
tricky. You can create a new PWA site with a slightly different URL and
run the relinker - or you need to go through a bit of effort to create a
new PWA site with the old URL (which may not be worth the effort).

Thanks for the reply! Yes I realized after the fact this is in the wrong
forum. I had both open in separate browsers and it ended up here on accident.

If I further questions when I get going I will post them in the other forum.
