Problems pasting grouped objects

Using PowerPoint 2007:
1. Create a drawn object using the drawing tools
2. Group that object
3. Create a second drawn object and group it
4. Insert a MathType equation (OLE Object) to annotate the first drawn
object and group it with the first drawn object
5. Insert another MathType (OLE) object and group it with the second drawn
object.
6. Group the two grouped objects together so that the end result is a single
object.
7. Copy that and paste into Word 2007.
This results in mangling one of the drawn objects.

If however everything is ungrouped and I simply do a select-all it pastes
fine.
Also, I am not always able to repro this and in my view is happening because
of the multiple groupings happening. Does anyone know about this and have any
suggestions?

Thanks
Karl

Hi Karl

I can repro this. If the object does not need to be edited in Word, I would
suggest using Paste Special -> png. If they do need to be edited in Word, I
would suggest creating them in Word and not PowerPoint (or keeping the copy
of the diagrams in PowerPoint so you can edit there then Paste Special again
any time you need to update).
