Problems Saving Office 2003 Document to Netware Drive

Hi
We're having quite a serious problem with Office 2003 not being able to create new documents in our Netware mapped drives from within Office application (Files - Save As). An error message always pops out saying that you can't save because the directory is read only. I know for a fact that this isn't a permission problem because i use the user's name on other machine with Office XP & 2000 and all of them can save perfectly to our network drive. If i use Office 2003 to save to a local drive and later on copy to that netware drive, it's fine. This problem has started to bug many of our users. Is there any workaround for this problem or fixes? Please if anyone is reading this, any suggestions will be appreciated

Thanks!

Do you have a virus checker on the Server or on the PCs?
If so try knocking off network scanning, or temporarily
disabling the scanner(s). See what happens then...

There is no antivirus running on that computer. We have
a computer running automated virus scan on all network
drives on predetermined dates. I don't think this issue
lies in antivirus software interfering with MS Office
operations.
