Project Costs

I am getting inconsistent project costs. I run a report for project cost and
I get one result. I run a custom resource cost report and I get a different
total cost. I run another cost report for the high level tasks and get
another total cost.

Any thoughts on how these numbers would be out of sync?

What version of Project, service packs etc and what custom data? What is
different between the reports? what are the reports adding up? Please give
us MS Project column names (EG Baseline Cost) rather than custom names.
