I've reviewed this:

However, i'm working in the MSFT provided VPC. I can change the status
manager to a new PM (say from PM1 (original) to PM2 (new)).
When i log in as PM2, i see all of the tasks showing the Status Mgr as PM2
From PWA, Project Center, Edit Properties: I changed the Owner back to PM1
and published; Similar to what i did to set PM2 as owner.
When i log back in as PM1, i cannot set status Manager back on some tasks
though PM1 is listed in the status manager dropdown list. In my example,
these tasks that won't allow a select of PM1 on Status Manager have Cost
Resources and Team Resources assigned whereas the other tasks do not.
Perhaps this was a bug fixed in some of the recent PS07 updates/fixes?
