Publisher 2007 - Clipboard is busy

I have a user that cannot post a picture into publisher from a JPG file, she
gets a message that the clipboard is busy. Drag & drop does not work. The
picture is 7mg in size. We have tried deleting internet files and this has
not helped.

thanks

Is there a particular reason you need to use such an enormous jpg image?
A seven meg jpg boggles the mind. Use a graphics program to reduce its size.

Yes, it will open in other programs, it just won't paste.

Pasting images into Publisher is best avoided anyway. If you have the
image as a JPEG on disk, simply Insert > Picture > From File and use it
directly.

We tried to resize using Microsoft Office Picture manager but when we try to
save is when we get the problem. On top of that, after getting the error
when it won't save, when you exit, it deletes the file permanently.

The image could be damaged. What does the error message say? Try re-sizing the
image in Paint.

I thought that as well, but it happened for any JPG over say 5G. I have been
able to get a work-around by creating a PDF and then saving it back as a JPG.
It's a lot of work to just resize a file :(

Can you open it in the Windows Picture Viewer?
then use the (right-click) send-to-email to reduce it.
That's worked for me for a 3+Mb picture --> 100kb.
I send-to using my address but don't actually send the message, just save
the attachment & delete the message.
The resized picture will open in Viewer & it did import into Pub07.
I still have the original file.
