Publisher won't start - low memory error

When I try to open Publisher 2003 I get an error "Windows is low on memory,
or your hard disk is full. Try closing other programs and freeing some
space on your hard disk before starting Publisher."

I have plenty of memory on the hard dish 60GB free and 2GB of RAM so it
isn't a memory problem. I have search and have only found references to a
problem with NAV (Norton Anti Virus) which I don't have.

I have reinstalled with no success. I have run repair with no success.

It was running fine and crashed while trying to print a document and since
then it won't run.

Any ideas.

Sometimes when I've gotten a message like this, I just close everything &
reboot. That seems to help clear out the computer's sinuses or something.
(I don't think they've ever fixed the 'memory leak' problem...or ever will.)
Or maybe something has left some footprints around somewhere that are
messing with Publisher.

I didn't have as much free HD or RAM space as you (one reason I've gone to a
new computer) & I'm sure there was lots of....grit....around in what I did
have.

I have rebooted several times. Even unistalled Publisher and reinstalled.
Did a repair. Nothing seems to clear out whatever the problem is. Plenty
of memory and virtual memory.

I am at a loss.

All I can offer, then, is sympathetic sighs & frustrations.
Very sorry.

Or maybe there is something else that's running in the background that
you're not even aware of that even though it's not a memory hog is somehow
messing up Publisher.
