Sentence starts with capital - not!

The feature that capitalizes the first letter after a period is obviously
very useful but I have found a situation where this is very annoying. I was
filling in a table where one column showed email addresses, which are
invariably lower case. However, Word97 insisted on making the first letter a
capital letter; this being awkward to correct. (you have to make the change
then click to the next column).
Is there any way to turn-off this feature?
Thanks, Gord

I don't know about Word97 but in later versions it's uncheck:

Tools>Auto Correct Options>Capitalise first letter of sentences.

You may find that there's enough of a clue in there to locate the same
feature in w97

Tools / Auto Correct and uncheck the Capitalize first letter of a
sentence option.

Yep. It's that way in Word97, too. :)
