Spelling and grammar settings are not being saved

My spelling and grammar settings are not being saved. All my other
changes are being saved, like default font and page margins.

I have deleted
~/Library/Preferences/com.microsoft.Word.plist
~/Library/Preferences/com.microsoft.office.plist
~/Library/Preferences/Microsoft/Office 2008/Office Font Cache
(12)

I even uninstalled Word and deleted every file associated with
Microsoft and then reinstalled Word.

Mac Word 2008 - version 12.00 (071130)
Leopard 10.5.2
MacBook Pro

Any help would be greatly appreciated...

All the settings on the Spelling and Grammar preference page.

The ones I want to set are the grammar setting for
1) check for comma in a list
2) check for one space between sentences.

I can change the settings, then when I exit and restart they are set
back to the default.

Thanks

Okay, yes. Good catch. I'm seeing the same thing here, so I think it's a
bug. You don't even have to quit to make it happen--OK out of the
preferences dialog, then select Word | Preferences and they are right
back to the default.

Can you report it to MS? Be just as detailed as you were here, plus
version, etc. Use Help | Send Feedback in Word or go directly to the
suggestions website.
