OK, I have posted on this topic before and I am pretty sure I know the
answer, but thought I would check around again. I am wanting to setup
a notebook, and use it kind of like a wiki. As I research a certain
topic, I want to tag pages with various different tags that indicate
some of the topics or subjects that page includes. Then, I want to be
able to go to a list of all of the subjects and pick from that list
and see each page or entry that relates that subject.

It seems as though I could do this with the tags in ON 2007 and the
tag summary, but is there a limit to the number of tags? Also, it
seems as though the tags I define are universal to any notebook I am
using. Well, a list of tags related to a research notebook would be
very different from the tags I would use to track business notes, or a
personal journal. I know I can just do a word search, but that is
really not what I am looking for either.

Does anyone else have a system to work around this? Thanks!

There is no limit to the number of tags you can define, although you can
only apply preconfigured icons to these tags.

What you describe (applying one or more tags to a page to help define its
contents) is doable, and creative use of both the Tags Summary screen and
the search function should help keep it together.

Having said that, if you want a wiki, you should look into a wiki product.

Thanks. Per this thread here, I though there was a limit of 100 tags:

As far as your suggestion for a wiki product, it is just a personal
note reference tool that I seek, which could function somewhat like a
wiki. I have seen a lot of notetaking products that have this
function in it now, and it seems to a great function that should be
standard.

Other than that, I love onenote! Thanks for the help.

I too would like to use certain tags for special only locally relevant
purposes (for example, tagging paragraphs as supporting or opposing a claim I
am discussing). I would therefore welcome possibilty of defining tags at a
more local level (section group/section would be fine for me)
