ToDo Lists and switch between pen and selection tool

In OneNote2003, I could ink task, and then add a ToDo tag. When the task was
completed, I could check the box, in Pen mode without switching to the
Selection Tool.

In OneNote2007, I have to switch from pen to selection tool to check the
box. I have tried this with "switch between pen and selection tool" checked
and unchecked and experienced the same result.

Is there something I am missing or forgetting? Thanks for the help...wc

If the ToDo tag is one of the first nine, you can use the control key to
help out (if you have a keyboard). For example, the default ToDo tag is the
first tag on the list. Use Control-1 to apply it and Control-1 again to mark
it done.
