Where did you get this error information from? Did you get any error
messages on the screen itself? Have you got enough disk space and does
your system meet the necessary systems requirements?

Can't seem to find any working solution for this. There is no previous
installations of Office as this is a new Windows installation. All available
updates from Windows Update is installed.

This error signifies ProjectToolLarge or The project proposal is too large.

Which means that he already has an Office vresion (which one?) already installed and
the MSO cache is oversized and he is trying to Project which does not match his
Office install

The strange thing is that I don't have Office installed, as this is a new
installation. Office was installed in Vista, but I upgraded to Win7 - though
I formatted C and did a clean installation of Win7.

The message appears just after starting Setup from the installation disc. I
uploaded this photo for reference: http://bildr.no/image/632620.jpeg
By choosing to check online for a solution, there is no help.

I have tried to download the installer from the web as well, but I get the
same problem at the same place.

You still have something of Office installed. How did you Upgrade from Vista. Did
you use the disk to upgrade or did you do a clean reformat and install Win 7 unto an
empty cleanly formatted disk.

There is no sign of Office on the computer, that is the strange part. I did a
complete reinstall by formatting the old partition. But are there for example
any software who checks the register for traces of Office and deletes it?
Anything that might help, if you're sure that is the reason.

Thanks for your help by the way.

You are talking utter rubbish. The OP has done a clean install
but due to your lack of attention, you missed this. Please read
the messages thoroughly before going around wasting people's time
doing unnecessary uninstall and re-install of Microsoft
applications and OS.

Please make a note of this for future reference.

Try reading between the lines and you will be so much better for it. The OP did not
do a clean reformat. Now tell him what is the problem. You now know it
