unexpected error, auto-save has been disabled. Why ?

Every so often a box pops up "An unexpected error has occurred; auto-reciver
has been disabled for this sectionm of Excel". It then goes on to to fail to
save anyhting normally claiming that it "cannot find the path". Anyone know
why this might be nad how to cure it, please ?
