Visio via Citrix Metaframe client - .vsd files not recognised as Visio files/objects and can not be

Dear reader,

I hope you may be able to assist me with the following:

A user in my company would like to be able to insert a Microsoft Visio
Drawing into a Word document, as a Microsoft Visio Drawing object, in order
to be able to right-click this and select "Visio Object -> Edit/Open" within
the document.

Having Visio locally installed on the PC, this works as designed.

To save a little on licensing, we're running Visio via Citrix Metaframe
client but we have Visio Viewer locally installed to support at least
viewing of visio files even without Citrix.
I.e. the VSD file format is registered to IE.

Hence I see two challanges:
1. How to register VSD with Visio via Citrix
and
2. How to make Word recognise VSD to be a Visio Drawing Object and to
edit/open such into Visio via Citrix (1.)

I have posted the issue in the following newsgroups:
microsoft.public.visio
microsoft.public.visio.general
microsoft.public.visio.troubleshoot
microsoft.public.word.drawing.graphics
as well as to Citrix Systems Inc.

Kind regards,
Soren Mikkelsen

remembering that in a citrix scenario both products must be installed on the
server, you cannot have one on the workstation and one on the server (what
comes back via citrix is not application specific, it is only a screen
update)
