Web Access tables not loading

Angel

I have a Project 2003 web access user who can't get his tasks table to load.
He can log on, get to the home page and then click on the tasks page, but
once he gets there, the page loads but the tasks table just says, "loading
data..." and never loads.

This is a new issue, he was able to get to the table to submit his time to
previously. He has not installed any new software (that he is aware of; we do
have corporate-pushed updates but no one else is experiencing this issue, so
for now I'm assuming it's a one-off problem). He can get to web access and
the tables load properly if he logs onto a terminal server first so this
leads me to believe it is local to his laptop.

I had him delete his cookies and temp internet files. I also had him delete
the ActiveX Controls (PF11enuC & PjAdoInfo3) and then reaccess the site so he
would be prompted to download them again. This didn't solve the problem
either.

Any thoughts on what else it could be?

Hi Angel,

If this user uses a differnt PC does he/she still have the same issue?
The reason for this question is to find out if it is a user issue or a PC
issue. If the user can access this information from another PC, then at
least you know that it is a PC issue. I would, as you have done already,
delete the activeX components and re-install them.
I hope this helps

Yes, it is defintely only an issue on his laptop since he isn't experiencing
the issue when he logs on to web access via a terminal server. I've had him
delete and reinstall the ActiveX Controls and that didn't help. It seems like
it has to be an IE or ActiveX issue on his laptop but I'm not sure what to do
beyond what I've had him try.

Thanks

Angel ,

To re-affirm what Marc has said, check on a different pc, which you
have and thus isolated the problem to the local PC. Now in the
majority of cases reloading the add ins would solve the problems, if
not it points to an IE error. Now here is the thing. By just Un
Installing IE and re installing, we have found does not always fix IE.
Most of the time that this has happend it means a reload of the OS.

Angel:

The next thing to try is to logon to his laptop using different user
credentials. If the new user can access PWA, then you can be certain that
the problem is isolated to his user profile on the machine. If the new user
experiences the same problem, then you can be fairly certain that there is a
software blocking issue, most likely caused by a browser add-in, or the
installation of software that downgraded the MDAC components on the system.
In this case, look for things like browser toolbars or Smart Phone add-ins
or additional virus scanning software.
